Quick Fix for Chrome Rust
March 08, 2011
Doug Thorsteinson sends the following tip:
"For all you gearheadz out there...if you are making a fun weekend toy, not a full custom car, you can remove rust off chrome without scraping it. Use tin foil. It works! Just rub over the rust and it will come off and not leave a mark. The chrome looks as if it has never had rust before. I did it to my dad's Goldwing."
Stacey replies:
"This is a good tip that's been around awhile. Tin foil will take surface rust off chrome as long as it's not too bad. My big question is...Does your dad know you were rubbing foil all over his Goldwing? Heh, heh, heh, he does now!!"
