My son Ridge has been obsessed with Monster ever since his first show at 1 1/2 years old...he's now 6. 2 years ago I built him a go kart and he got the bug worse. He wanted a monster truck but there aren't kid friendly options. If you can't buy it...build it! We completed the build in time for his 6 the birthday and are currently doing some "testing" on our track at home making upgrades as needed. It started as a manco kart. We cut it up and designed and built chassis. We built center steering and installed hydraulic brakes. We changed the axle to accept a split style gear for easy ratio changes and going hubs to accept a common 4 wheeler lug pattern. We had some help building the body panels and used Zeus fasteners for attachment. It was then wrapped and painted. It even has a fake blower scoop and functional zoomies!
