1970 Plymouth Road Runnder

Season

I have always been a Mopar fan and have had many in my lifetime. My family carries on this affair with Mopars. My youngest son, Ben was the motor head in the family, always helping with whatever project I had in the garage. I say was because he passed in Dec. 2015 at 23 years of age. We often would cruise our projects to the cruises and shows. We always agreed to disagree about the 69 and 70 “B” bodies. I preferred 69, he the 70. So as a tribute to Ben I followed up on a 1970 Road Runner that I had know about for over 35 years but never really knew the true whereabouts of it. A friend bought it in 1981 from my buddy and moved away from the area. Once I had the idea of this tribute car I looked him up and he still had it and was more than willing to let me finish the 35 plus year restoration that he never finished. He did the under carriage and frame. So today the car is in the body shop getting ready for the final primer and blocking. Once I get it back the real challenge of getting all of the parts back into starts. My oldest son, Chris has agreed to be at my side throughout this project and would even like to have the car in his wedding. The timeframe is super tight but I will try to have it for him so that Ben can be there for him. This car will remain in this family until its’ death. Here are the pictures of when I picked up the car and some of the resto taking place. Body work is being done by Nick Pauline of New Castle Pa. The bumpers, rear end/leaf springs and front end are completely rebuilt by Chris and me. The glass, interior seat covers, head liner, carpet and vinyl top will be put in/on as soon as I get it back. Still lots of work to be done yet. 383 HP motor will need to be rebuilt. 4 speed is still good. Thanks Stacey for your show and the great tips you offer for anyone willing to try them.
