Transmission fluid as an engine flush

A viewer from Kenosha, WI says: A little tried and true fact that I have found is to use cheap automatic transmission fluid (ATF) as an engine flush prior to changing your oil. Just pour a full quart in, let it idle for about five minutes, and drop your oil. you'll be surprised at how much junk it'll really pick up. It also seems to solve chronic low oil pressure problems. Stacey says: Great tip! Matter of fact, I know some guys that swear by using four quarts of oil and one quart of ATF in their engines all the time. I've seen some of these engines inside and they are nice! I don't recommend doing this on a high-mileage engine though, as this could knock loose a lot of stuff and end up making your engine burn oil.
