A lot of people ask how the Rat Roaster car, and the Rat Roaster model came to be. And while the creation and concept of the Rat Roaster car was well documented by Stacey David on the GEARZ TV show, the reason behind the model is lesser known. Revell had been looking to release a new 32 Ford roadster kit, but wanted one that represented the aftermarket more. Since a lot of the cars being built today are loaded with aftermarket parts, having a kit that represented that was important. This not only puts a cool kit on the market, but also a bunch of cool parts that can be used by modelers on other kits. One of the unique things about Stacey David’s “Rat Roaster” car, is that it represents the very popular late 60’s in looks and style, but with a modern twist. It also features a bunch of really unique modifications that make it stand out from the sea of ’32 Roadsters out there. The fact that Stacey has been an avid model builder most of his life, and strives to encourage people to develop the skills and ability to build their own car or truck, made the connection with Stacey and Revell as natural as driving a candy green roadster on a warm spring day.
Some of the unique features to look for in the kit are:
1. A removable hood, that features ’56 Buick portholes in the top
2. “Microphone” shifter, bomber seats, and diamond-tuft interior panels
3. ET Dragster wheels, and Firestone slicks
4. Sanderson headers, Holley supercharger and carburetors, small block chevy engine
5. “Bobbed” rear fenders, and front cycle fenders
6. Gibson custom shop ES335 guitar with exhaust and stand.
This car is a late '60s-style hot rod with so many mods you can hardly tell what the original ride was. Stavey's elbow grease and innovation turned this car into a full-throttle thrill ride with a front-end moon tank and a Weiand® 250 blower. This kit features a choice of 2 carburetor intakes, a replica Rat Roaster guitar, optional front fenders and Stacey David design decals.
