GearZ Team

With the new season just a couple weeks away, and the crew working hard to make it happen, we thought we would take a look behind the camera and introduce you to a couple of the guys that help make GearZ happen.

1st up is Mark Ramey. Among other responsibilities, Mark is our lead cameraman. With 30 years of experience in both the film and television industries Mark has worked on various types of production projects including commercials, music videos, motion pictures and television series.  These unique experiences have afforded him many opportunities to hone his craft as a videographer.  Over time Mark has developed and become comfortable with a particular “style”, but he strives to create a look that supports the project he is shooting without imposing his personal sensibilities.

Mark told us “I have always been an automotive enthusiast.  Working with Stacey on GearZ gives me a chance to combine two of my passions.  We work hard to give our show a more “cinematic” feel and thankfully I have the support in art direction and post production that really makes it all come together”.

Next Is Scott Van Orden.  A West Michigan native, Scott moved to Nashville in 1997 to pursue commercial photography. After working in the freelance world for four years, an opportunity came along to work in Television Production. I met Stacey David in 2001 and worked as a Production Assistant  with him on a previous show. In 2007 Scott left and moved to Savannah to finish off his college endeavors and graduated with a B.F.A. in Sequential Art (Graphic Novels and Storyboarding for film). Leaving Nashville in 2007, Stacey always said there would be a place for him if he ever needed some work. After graduation from Savannah College of Art and Design, Scott looked up Stacey and gave him a visit. He started at Rattletrap Productions in the fall of 2009 and now he’s producing segments and helping direct shows for “Stacey David’s Gearz”. Scott also helps develop merchandise designs, keeps track of shipping and receiving of parts for the show, takes care of commercial obligations; edit logs all the wonderful episodes, shoots 2nd camera for the show and takes photographs on the set. Scott mentioned to us “It’s been a great ride and I don’t want to get off this rollercoaster anytime soon”.

Stacey says, “Having the right people on a team is the key to how successful you are going to be with that team.   Scott and Mark are not only the right people, but also an integral part of the success of GEARZ.  We’re lucky to have them!”
