It's fun watching Stacey fixing some old trucks and putting it back together. You need to be a grease-monkey to have this kind of knowledge in automotive to keep Truck Exterior and keep its engine running forever.

Jerry,i worked for a company here in LA in the late 60's or early 70's called TuneMasters, they did the same thing with water! you could see the carbon coming out of the exhaust in the way of smoke. thanks for the tip. kurt s.f.v.

this has nothing to do with grommets, but it is a proven way to clean carbon in the combustion process.take 8oz's of cold tap water and add 1 table spoon of arm and hammer baking soda.mix well and slowly pour into running, engine at op temp, carb.hand throttle as it trys to kill engine.it will vaporize carbon instantly.valves, stems, chambers, intake will be spotless.cost pennies and keeps carbon at a minimum.about once every 3 months.i learned this from a mech, back in 1962.i have never harmed an engine.baking soda appears to keep the valves fron warping by keeping the steam produced at a lower temp.

Sounds like something to try on an engine that has sat for a while.
