Well, it’s that time of year again and the SEMA show is approaching fast. For those that don’t know, SEMA is the aftermarket, and the SEMA show is one of the biggest conventions to hit Las Vegas. At SEMA you will see every type of car or truck you can imagine, and every kind of aftermarket product you can dream of. It is fantastic, and something every gearhead should experience at least once in their life!

THE V8 INTERCEPTOR

The idea for the V8 Interceptor has been bangin’ around in my head for a number of years, just waiting for a chance to get out. I have always loved the early Mercury Cougars and figured I wasn’t the only one, so I knew that people would want to see a high performance street machine project that wasn’t just the typical early Mustang or Camaro. I also wanted the feel and direction of the buildup to be based around the natural mystique of the Cougar.

Advanced Plating Survives the Nashville Floods !

Our friends at Advanced Plating in Nashville have survived the (grossly under-reported) Nashville Floods, thanks to the quick work of owner Steve Tracy and good friends pitching in. Although the building was mostly underwater, Steve went into action during the flood to save his customers parts and to minimize the damage. Now that cleanup is well underway, Advanced Plating is having a “FLOOD SALE” to close out the items that were under water ... You know, it's always amazing to talk to other gearheads and car nuts and see what kind of automotive influences they have had. It's surprising how many of us have been influenced by the same things, no matter what our age or generation. However, the amazing thing is to watch people's reactions when they come face to face with one of those influential vehicles. They stare; they point; they laugh and giggle, and basically...right there in front of your eyes...turn into a little kid again. It’s fantastic!

As the American Auto industry continues to twist in the wind, it is amazing to see the “solutions” that the politicians and so called “experts” are coming up with. They are all talking about new, “greener” cars…alternative fuel cars…..and cars that get better mileage and use less fuel. Now that’s all great, but the one big white elephant that nobody is addressing with all these solutions is ….COST!! The only way that GM, Chrysler, or Ford are going to survive is they have to build cars that people WANT to buy, and they have to make them affordable.
